The event is staged in the spectacular grounds of the grade II listed Southfield House where visitors are welcome to come along and watch top riders in action in beautiful unspoilt farmland. For three days, Southfield House, which is close to the A361 near the village of Nunney, becomes a hive of activity and as well as sporting action there’s the chance to browse an eclectic range of trade stands and food outlets, all positioned around the main arena where show jumping takes place throughout the three days of the competition.

Gamekeepers and the farming community are often those most affected by, or are witness to rural crime. They provide the eyes and the ears of the countryside and often suffer the consequences of rural crime. Poaching can lead to a number of animal welfare issues, serious loss of income from the illegal taking of game and the damage which many offenders carry out to farm land in the process of carrying out these crimes. Poachers are usually involved with many other rural crimes as well. As landowners and gamekeepers , please remain vigilant and report anything suspicious on 999 emergency or 101 non-emergency, Any intelligence you can provide to us reference poaching /rural crime would be much appreciated by your rural beat team. A member of the beat team attended the Bath and West show with the forces rural affairs unit, speaking with many members of our rural communities highlighting the importance of reporting all poaching incidents and providing preventative advice that can be implemented by our rural stakeholders.

Fly-tipping is defined as the 'illegal deposit of any waste onto land that does not have a licence to accept it'. Tipping a mattress, electrical items, building / garden waste or a bin bag full of rubbish in our rural communities causes a local nuisance in our rural locations and make them extremely unsightly.

Another location has been highlighted to the beat team, the respective agencies are also aware. A warning to anyone thinking of Fly-tipping within our area, there may be the chance your on camera and will face prosecution. You have been warned!!

There has been a rise in the theft of Quad bikes and Farm utility vehicles recently, these vehicles are valuable commodities for our farmers, gamekeepers and Landowners.
What security have you in place for your vehicle?

A member of the beat team attended the Bath and West show and gave crime preventative advice that can be implemented to avoid the theft of these valuable rural Commodities. There were examples of products on hand to show the farming community what can be purchased currently.

Speeding in the rural villages of Frome has been highlighted as a priority. The speeding causes safety concerns amongst our rural communities.
