Neighbourhood Priorities for Crewe South

IssueActionDates

Concerns were raised about the poor behaviour of a minority of people out and about in Crewe South.

There were issues around those who didn't know their own limits when out socialising and the problems they caused when intoxicated.

While this can be a problem for any licenced premises across Crewe South, Nantwich Road is a focal point because of the number of licenced premises in a small area.

Cheshire police have created Operation Streetsafe.

Whilst this operation has a number of targets the main ones in Crewe South have been intoxication and violence in and around licenced premises.

Cheshire police are working with local licensees to improve the experience of those out and about in Crewe, and to ensure that the legislation is properly implemented.

With the support of those running these premises Cheshire Police have been conducting visits during opening hours to identify and tackle any issues they have.

There have also been officers out on foot, or in "The BIG Blue Van" to identify those few whose behaviour causes problems for others.
