Neighbourhood Priorities for Warrington South

IssueActionDates

With the onset of the school holidays, and in light of an increase of reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) on a couple of the local parks.  Specifically Alexandra Park in Stockton Heath and Ridgeway Grundy Park in Lymm.

Both these parks will be subject to increased patrolling during the evenings over the holiday period.

In addition some schools have had reports of ASB within their grounds, so all schools will be incorporated in the patrol plan for April.

During April, we have had 8 calls from the public regarding youth ASB in Alexandra Park, Stockton Heath.  Most of these calls related to youths on the park or the bowling green on their pedal cycles, or general noise complaints.  Whilst relatively low level in nature, these issues cause local residents and park users concern and we will continue to patrol the park and attend incidents of this nature.

Speeding remains a priority for Warrington Police and we are committed to tackling this issue.  We will maintain this as a local priority for the month of April.  Officers and PCSO's will be enforcing the speed limits on local roads, which is always raised as a prime concern by local residents.

Please drive carefully and respectfully on local roads.

April saw the arrival of the TIPSOL European Speed Enforcement campaign, and various local sites around Warrington were visited and targeted as part of this campaign.

In Warrington South, areas that we focussed on were Hatton Lane between Hatton and Stretton, Stretton Rd and Warrington Rd.

Enforcement action on Hatton Lane was carried out in conjunction with a Social Media Campaign to raise awareness.  22 Drivers were caught travelling over the speed limit, who were issued fixed penalty tickets, or will be summonsed to court.

The social media posts had an audience reach of over 7000 views..

We will to continue to pro-actively enforce local speed limits and educate drivers around the dangers of speeding.
