Tibshelf Derbyshire Constabulary Police Local Neighbourhood

I am Sergeant 1611 Mark Church and I have responsibility for this Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.

I have been a police officer since 1994, and was promoted to a Sergeant in 2000. I've worked mostly on the response teams throughout the area, helping me to understand the problems that affect our local communities, and became a Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant in 2013. My priorities are to engage and to listen to your concerns and target issues that are important in making sure your local area is a safe and pleasant place to live, work and visit.

Our aim to provide a reassuring presence to offer the highest levels of customer service from your local neighbourhood officers.

Speeding cars on Hilcote Lane, Hilcote

# This issue was resolved and the priority closed at our Community Panel Meeting on November, 28 2012.

# We carried out increased police patrols in the area to reassure members of the public and deter speeding motorists.

# Speed checks were carried out alongside Roads Policing Officers and fines issued as necessary.

# We set up a Community Speed Watch for the area, funded by Blackwell Parish Council and HW Martin Group (local business).

# Community Speed Watch will continue in the area.

Anti-social behaviour in Newton and the Charnwood Crescent area

# Regular patrols to help deter the problem and take appropriate action against anyone found to be causing anti-social behaviour.
# Speak to local residents to gather information about the issue and reassure the community about the steps we can take to address concerns.

# Patrols to be carried out alongside the CAN Rangers to deter offenders and take appropriate action against anyone caught littering or vandalising the health centre.
# Issue Section 59 warnings and seize vehicles if necessary.
# Work with the local community to find out when the problems are occurring and gather any information about those causing anti-social behaviour.
# Issue nuisance letters and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts when appropriate, and consider further action for any criminal offences.
