Traffic and Speeding

Complaints regarding traffic and speeding in the Plymstock area, ranging from Sherford to the Mountbatten, are often raised by residents and sent to both the Neighbourhood Policing Team and the local authority.

The area contains residential housing, shopping and business areas, schools and also has a main arterial route running through it. This presents a wide range of different issues that may be reduced or resolved using various techniques.

The Policing Team will conduct Speed Awareness events linking in with local schools and running Speed Watch days throughout the year, highlighting the dangers linked to excess speeds. There are plans to set up Pop Up Policing events in the area to focus on driving standards. Social media will also be used to promote safe driving and road safety.
