Drug dealing Community intelligence shows that there is drug dealing in back alleys and addresses within the Princerock area. The local neighbourhood team are taking steps to tackle this problem by conducting high visibility patrols and executing Misuse of Drugs Act warrants. |
Update: 12 January 2019 - Positive Action Taken The Neighbourhood Policing Team have executed 4 Misuse of Drugs Act warrants at specific addresses in Princerock recently. These have resulted in positive police outcomes. However Police still believe there is drug dealing in the rear service lanes of Princerock. Update: 12 September 2018 - Community engagement Whilst out on patrol the local team in Princerock often receive useful information from members of the public which will assist in tackling those using and dealing drugs. They can also see the signs of illicit activity. Information becomes community intelligence which leads to Misuse of Drugs Act warrants. We will always take action. Update: 02 June 2018 - Patrols The Neighbourhood Team have been conducting high vis and plain clothes patrols to develop community intelligence and take positive action to tackle drug dealing and usage. Further Misuse of Drugs Act warrants will be conducted in due course. Update: 02 June 2018 - Positive result from a high visibility patrol Whilst on routine patrol, officers encountered an individual that they wanted to speak with about other matters and found this person to be in possession of illegal drugs. The person will be interviewed about this matter at Charles Cross police station. |

Traffic and Speeding Complaints regarding traffic and speeding in the Plymstock area, ranging from Sherford to the Mountbatten, are often raised by residents and sent to both the Neighbourhood Policing Team and the local authority. The area contains residential housing, shopping and business areas, schools and also has a main arterial route running through it. This presents a wide range of different issues that may be reduced or resolved using various techniques. The Policing Team will conduct Speed Awareness events linking in with local schools and running Speed Watch days throughout the year, highlighting the dangers linked to excess speeds. There are plans to set up Pop Up Policing events in the area to focus on driving standards. Social media will also be used to promote safe driving and road safety.

Update: 12 January 2019 - Speed Gun Operation A speed gun operation was conducted on Sherford Road, Plymstock by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team at the end of November 2018. This was in response to complaints about drivers speeding above the 30mph limit. The result of the speed gun operation was that all the vehicles checked were driving at or below the 30mph limit. |

Safeguarding vulnerable adults The neighbourhood team are aware of a number of vulnerable elderly residents who have been subjected to unwanted visitors who have been taking advantage of their good nature and taking money from them. Action is being taken in partnership with Plymouth City council to protect the vulnerable being exploited in this way. |
Update: 12 January 2019 - We continue to look out for the community The Neighbourhood Team have recently taken positive action against two offenders who were targetting vulnerable person's in the Princerock area. The Team continue to look out for vulnerable adults in the community and also work with the community to identify those who are vulnerable and at risk of being abused. Update: 12 September 2018 - Keeping an eye out for our vulnerable residents The Princerock team conduct regular foot patrols and have been pleased to see some of our vulnerable residents popping out to the shops. Through engagement with those who work in the shops we know that others are also keeping a watchful eye on vulnerable residents and will report any concerns to us. Update: 02 June 2018 - Positive Action The Neighbourhood Team have served a Community Protection Notice warning letter on two individuals who have been exploiting vulnerable adults and one of these is to be progressed to a full notice. Update: 02 June 2018 - Positive engagement with a vulnerable male Through police engagement with a vulnerable male, he felt empowered to tell an individual looking to take advantage of him to leave his house and not come back again. |
