Youth disorder in the Town Centre.

Drug misuse in the Town Centre.

Traffic issues including speeding in Thorntree Gill, Eastfield and Shotton Hall Schools.

Illegal Vehicles.

3 youths have been interviewed under caution for public disorder following a disturbance in McDonalds.  They have been referred to the Youth Offending Team and are all prepared to engage in a Restorative Approach.  They will also be brought in and spoken to in person by Inspector Blakelock around their behaviour.

Following on from other reports of ASB in Peterlee Town Centre, visits have been made by Police and Durham County Council to 9 young people who have been causing issues.  They will received ASB warning letters from Durham County Council.

2 Community Protection Warning Notices have been issued following on from drug misuse in one of the subways in the Town Centre.  These people have been barred for a period of 1 year and their images have been distributed to Town Centre stakeholders to inform police and should they return.   

Road Policing Unit have been tasked to look at Eastfield and Thorntree Gill with regards to the issues of the road being used as a through access road.  It is anticipated they will be there at peak times to catch offenders.  Parking at Shotton Hall Schools: active patrols have been carried out in and around the area with vehicles being moved on when they are causing an obstruction.  Speed Watch has been undertaken in various locations throughout Peterlee Town by community volunteers.

Following on from reports of criminal damage in the bus station. Police in conjunction with Durham County Council have arranged for a security guard to patrol the bus station on an evening.

Work is being undertaken in the Dene to the rear of VIBE to look at addressing the issues of youths congregating on an evening.  This is partnership working with Police, Peterlee Town Council and the owners of VIBE.

PCSO’s have been into Dene House Primary school to talk to the children about ‘People Who Help Us’. Peterlee’s Community Garden will be constructed in the very near future in Woodhouse Park, Peterlee.

Work is ongoing arranging the ‘Young Heroes’ award event to be held at Shotton Hall on Friday, 11 May 2018.

Officers are working in conjunction with the Town Council to address the issues of off road bikes in the area.  We are looking at identifying pinch points in the Tweed Close and Avon Road area.  If successful we will look to roll this out in other areas of Peterlee.

A vehicle has been seized in Gloucester Place for having no tax or insurance.
