The Community Safety Patrol service exists to improve the wellbeing of local residents by helping to make people feel safer. The focus of the service is to reduce antisocial behaviour affecting people and places.

Antisocial behaviour is a broad term used to describe the day-to-day incidents of crime, nuisance and disorder that make many people’s lives a misery – from litter and vandalism, to public drunkenness or aggressive dogs, to noisy or abusive neighbours. In many cases, the behaviour is targeted against the most vulnerable in society and even what is perceived as ‘low level’ anti-social behaviour, when targeted and persistent, can have devastating effects on a victim’s life.

Community Safety Patrol Officers aim to reduce antisocial behaviour affecting people and places by:
•Enforcing a robust approach to ASB
•Deterring ASB through high visibility patrols
•Reassuring communities and victims
•Promoting measures to reduce risks of ASB
•Supporting police and partners
•Gathering evidence for remedial action

The council will not ignore antisocial behaviour and it will use its range of powers to take the most appropriate action to address it

The Community Safety Patrol service also contributes to wider community safety outcomes as required, for example acting in response to terrorism, serious crime operations, civil emergencies, troubled families interventions and major events.

In the last 30 days there have been five burglary reports of residential premises in the beat area. On two occasions it was an attempt only and nothing was taken. In another incident the offender was disturbed and nothing was taken. In the last two incidents entry was via a pvc door panel and cash and watches were stolen.
