Hello, My name is Sergeant Steve Lee. I am responsible for community policing for the Cheshunt West area of Broxbourne.

As a team we know that the behaviour of our young people is a concern to many of you this is reflected in our current priorities for your area. I would say that the overwhelming majority of our young people are well behaved and we are working hard to ensure that your quality of life is maintained. Cheshunt West is a low crime area with a good community spirit and some very experienced and professional police officers and staff patrolling every day.

I’ve served as a Police Officer for 24 years, firstly with Essex Police, before moving to Hertfordshire Constabulary 10 years ago. Since then I have held roles as Intervention Sergeant and Detective Sergeant involved in offender management and financial and serious crime investigations. I have a very dedicated team here providing community policing to the people of Broxbourne. We work closely with our partners including the councils, housing associations, Fire and Rescue, NHS and many other partners to reduce crime, catch criminals and keep people safe and ultimately make Broxbourne a safer place to live, work and visit.

Anti-social behaviour by youths in the area, whether congregating in groups on foot or in cars. Utilising CCTV system and an agreed reporting protocol.

We have carried out a lot of work in the area in the last few months. We have seized a car for no insurance and issued several (sec59) ASB notices to drivers. We have prosecuted a driver for careless driving. We have deployed some monitoring technology in the area and have had some good results. We continue to work with partners to deal with this problem. Thank you for your patience, we will continue to address this issue.
