I am the Neighbourhood Policing Sgt for the Stoneygate Ward.

Our aim as a team is to target and prosecute the offenders that cause us most harm and to find quick solutions to the issues that matter most to the community through effective work with our partner agencies.

I encourage the community to let us know any concerns you may have at the earliest opportunity by telephoning 101 in a non emergency, stopping us in the street or anonymously via Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.

Owen Lenton PC

I have been a Police Officer since 1997 and have spent the vast majority of my career working in this area. I really enjoy the challenge of being a Local Beat Officer, part of the Stoneygate Safer Neighbourhood team. I have a particular interest in working around the Evington Road and Way Roads area. I like to be out on patrol as much as possible, targeting the people who commit crime and anti-social behaviour.

Kuljinder Lally PC

I joined Leicestershire Police in 2002 and worked from Asfordby St Police station as a general response officer for 6 years.

I then moved to Spinney Hill Park Police station and became a neighbourhood officer currently working on the Stoneygate Ward.

As I have worked all of my career within this area I have a good knowledge of the location, and good working relationship with key members of the community and partner agencies. I am keen to work on issues that matter to the local community with a problem solving approach.

Charlotte Barber PC

I have been a police officer for over 10 years, having joined in 2003 and was originally assigned to the former police station in Asfordby Street.

I have worked within a specialist department dealing with the victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, and then subsequently returned to Neighbourhood policing.

I enjoy working within communities in the Stoneygate Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Ranjit Sonigra PCSO

I joined Leicestershire Police in 2005 as a Special Constable, and then in 2007 I was appointed as a Police Community Support Officer. I have worked hard to build up very good relations on the beat and I love being 'out there? helping the community. I like making a difference and positively tackling the causes and effects of anti-social behaviour.

Sam Trantom PCSO

I joined Leicestershire Police in 2010 as a Police Community Support Officer.

I focus on being visible on patrol in the community and I strive to make a positive difference. My priorities on the beat are providing a visible deterrent and reassuring presence.

I have worked hard to build up my community contacts and make a positive difference to those suffering from local anti-social behaviour.

Jordan Brown PCSO

I joined Leicestershire Police in 2017 as a Police Community Support Officer at Spinney Hill Police Station.

I have been a member of the Leicestershire Police family since I was 15, being involved in the Cadets for 3 years and as a Police Volunteer for 2 years. I look forward to meeting the public and working to make a positive difference in my community.

Please feel free to approach me if you have any concerns regarding the beat.

Emily Harrison PCSO

I joined Leicestershire Police in September 2017 and work from Spinney Hills Police Station.

I am looking forward to working with local residents and partners to effectively tackle incidents of anti social behaviour and to provide a visible reassurance to our communities.

There has been a recent increase in homelessness and begging being reported on the Evington Road business corridor. Local officers plan to liaise with local businesses and residents to establish the extent of the concerns raised. We will work with local partners and the community to decide the best approach in order to deal with concerns raised and to safeguard those who are most vulnerable. The local team will aim to effectively manage these concerns within the next 3 months. We will measure the success of the intervention by completing checks on offence reporting, crime recording and local consultations.

Due to increased patrols in the area, continued work with local homeless shelters, hostels and engaging with the homeless, we have reduced these issues along Evington Road.

High visibility patrols are continuing in the locality and officers have reported a significant improvement.

Youth related, rowdy anti-social behaviour on Cedar Park (O/I/C PC 1900 Lally)and Onslow Park (O/I/C PC 4428 King)at all times of the evening and weekends

Local Police worked closely with local residents to positively tackle the identified anti-social problems on Onslow & Cedar Park. Police increased targeted patrols to prevent incidents and provide reassurance to the local community. Extensive consultation took place with residents and businesses in the area, which resulted in both parks being included within a wider City Council proposed Designated Public Place Order (alcohol control zone). Although no longer a Beat Priority, local Police still actively patrol the area to support the community there.

We will work with partner agencies and the community to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour consisting of street football, disorderly conduct and excessive noise nuisance in Myrtle Road, Leicester between 4pm and 8pm on weekdays and between 12 noon and 8pm at weekends.

This priority was created during the summer months in Myrtle Road, and was caused by an extended local family, as a result of which local residents complained to the police and local authority. The priority was created in conjunction with St Peters Housing office and LASBU. Police and Housing office staff conducted local consultations which helped confirm this specific anti-social behaviour issue was confined to one particular area of the street. A letter was delivered to each household detailing the police position on street football and
anti-social behaviour. The anti-social behaviour happened generally between 5pm and 9pm on a weekday and anytime during daylight hours on a weekend. Residents cars and houses were being hit (but not damaged), wheelie bins were being used by the juvenile males causing complaints in the street, which lead to potentially dangerous objects in the highway, and residents complained of unruly and disorderly conduct (noise, verbal abuse, swearing in the street). The Police and LASBU in particular case managed a number of â??higher riskâ?? families in this street. The police beat team conducted regular targeted patrols in this street and this work has been sustained for 6 months. The police executed a misues of drugs act warrant in August at an address. Two adults were arrested (one further adult was dealt with contemporaneously post warrant), when a quantity of class A and class B drugs were recovered, plus two stun guns. Offenders were issued with a joint Housing office and police anti-social behaviour contract (ABC). Matters have progressed and LASBU have served a Notice of Intended Possession order in December and a local family have indicated their desire to move away from the area. The problems being encountered on this street, specific to this priority, have since been greatly minimised by the concerted efforts of the neighbourhood beat team, LASBU and the local Housing office. The
on-going enforcement will continue, but there is no need for this issue to remain a beat priority.

Action dated: 01/06/2012

We will work in partnership with agencies and the community to reduce anti-social behaviour consisting of drug dealing, disorderly behaviour, intimidation of local people in Myrtle Road and Upper Tichborne Street area at all times of the day and night.

The two dedicated officers, PC Dave Barber and PC Lesley Marriott remain in place. High visibility patrols, supported by the Special Constabulary continue. Intelligence continues to be developed and as do further community contacts in the area. In September the Police jointly organised and took part in a patch-walk on Upper Tichborne Street; present also were the Stoneygate Councillors, City Wardens, representatives from Highways and local residents. As a result of this consultation process and number of environmental improvements are being considered. Regular drug operations continue to be mounted. The main issue of blatant drug dealing and intimidating groups of local youths causing anti-social behaviour is much less of an issue now due to targeted policing.

The priority is in the final weeks of closure; the significant issue of overt drug dealing and threatening behaviour by semi organised groups has ceased. PC Marriott has left the priority to work on another project, but PC Barber will remain on the beat. In the next few weeks PC Barber will be introducing increased directed patrols using beat team officers and officers from the Special Constabulary. The new CCTV camera will be installed in the Hamilton Street area. Sgt Graham is working with the city council to have some of the trees cut back to help with CCTV coverage. Consultation with businesses will continue in the area (further developing contacts).

Reducing incidents of noisy and rowdy behaviour and criminal damage in Myrtle Road each day between 6pm and midnight.

By increasing police high visibility and plain clothes patrols, targeting specific locations at identified times and days. Extensive local consultations were conducted in the road by the police and Housing office. This area specifically targeted in the "Stoneygate Week of Action" conducted in February 2011. During that initiative there were occasions when over 20 officers patrolled the area preventing crime and disorder. Anti-social behaviour offenders were issued with joint police and Housing office warning letters. There was a marked improvement between residents and police officers engaged in the resolution of this priority. Incidents of criminal damage were reduced.

Working with local residents and volunteer agencies to reduce reports and incidents of rowdy, inconsiderate behaviour and graffiti on Upper Tichbourne Street and its junctions with Churchill Street, Connaught Street and Hamilton Street, each day between 4pm and 11pm.

By increasing our targeted police patrols in the area. The "Stoneygate Week of Action" in February was the main focus in tackling this priority problem. Complaints of graffiti were managed by police and the local authority, working in partnership. Relations between police and hostel staff were substantially improved, and between police and religious establishments; there were regular covert drugs operations conducted by the police. An environmental clean-up operation was conducted by volunteers from Trinity Life Church, city wardens and the police. The volunteers also conducted police community consultation surveys. Drugs crimes committed in the location were reduced. Police training was introduced by Sergeant Graham to support the team of voluntary "Community Carers" working from Trinity Life Church, and a programme of beat surgeries were also conducted from that location.

Reducing incidents of noisy and rowdy behaviour and criminal damage in Myrtle Road each day
between 6pm and midnight.

The neighbourhood team is currently working with senior partners from the nearby St Peters Housing office and the Leicester Anti-Social Behaviour Unit (LASBU)on a number of live investigations.

One family have recently been issued with an anti-social behaviour warning letter and formally advised that further sanctions are being considered to prevent them causing a nuisance in the street.

In recent weeks incidents of nuisance football in this street have increased; the local police team is working with residents and partners to tackle this problem.

inconsiderate behaviour and graffiti on Upper Tichbourne Street and its junctions with Churchill Street, Connaught Street and Hamilton Street, each day between 4pm and 11pm.

The team has good relations with the nearby Hostel, Church & Mosque and regularly support each other tackling this beat priority.

The Stoneygate Week of Action Monday February 14 to Sunday 20, 2011 achieved significant success with increased police patrols, crime was reduced, with drug seizures, reduced parking problems and a litter pick utilising volunteers from a local church.

Over the next few weeks further planned police operations will be conducted in the area with the intention of preventing and detecting crime.

To reduce instances of drug related crime and anti-social behaviour on Medway Street between the hours of 2pm and 2am daily.

We have conducted plain clothes operations in this area. The officers have targeted people suspected of possessing illegal drugs and they have dealt with anyone found with drugs. There has been a significant reduction of crime in the street involving drugs, which is very positive. Incidents of anti-social behaviour have also declined in recent months and the neighbourhood team has ensured that they provided a visible presence in the area.

Issue dated: 01/08/2010

Action dated: 15/02/2011

To reduce instances of inconsiderate behaviour, parking, young people causing a nuisance, criminal damage and litter around the areas of Evington Road, Chepstow Road and Devana Road between the hours of 10pm and 2am daily.

We intensified our presence in this area during the summer with officers patrolling on foot supported by a police van. A number of penalty tickets and advisory notices were issued to drivers for parking offences. Licensing checks were conducted with fast food outlets, advising them on their duties in relation to preventing their customers illegally parking in the area. Anti-social behaviour incidents have been tackled and the issue has been reduced.

Issue dated: 01/08/2010

Action dated: 15/02/2011

To reduce instances of inconsiderate behaviour (for example parking, youths causing nuisance, criminal damage and litter) around the Chepstow Road and Evington Road junction between 10pm and 2am daily.

The LPU has a dedicated vehicle that deals with incidents of anti-social behaviour between 2pm and 10pm daily. This has helped us to improve response times to such incidents and therefore deal with offenders as appropriate. In addition we have carried out patrols with our partner agencies, including Vinci Parking and Leicester City Council wardens, to assist us with parking and litter issues. The neighbourhood team will be in this area for the seasonal increase in reports on Evington Road so this priority will remain to benefit from this extra focus.

Issue dated: 01/05/2010

Action dated: 11/08/2010

To reduce incidents of drug-related crime on Medway Street between 2pm and 10pm daily.

Action dated: 11/08/2010

To work alongside Vinci Parking and the Highways Agency to reduce instances of illegal parking and obstructions along Evington Road, between East Park Road and Evington Drive, between 9am and 6pm during the week.
