Police Officer Information for Coalville Town

NameRankBio
Nick Leeland Sgt

I joined Leicestershire Police in 1999 as a Police Officer before being promoted to Sergeant 12 years ago. My career has covered a variety of roles predominantly in North west Leicestershire and Charnwood areas with the Priority Response Team.

I have inherited 3 dedicated beat teams with a wealth of knowledge for the local area. I intend to continue the good work and links that have already been made, working closely with local Communities and partner agencies on the Coalville, Valley and East Midlands Airport beats to solve issues at the heart of the community.

If anyone wishes to speak directly with myself or a member of the beat team please send us an email on the link below.

Craig Turner PC

I have been based at North West Leicestershire Neighbourhood Policing Area since joining Leicestershire Police. I have a good knowledge of the local area and aim to reduce levels of crime and anti-social behaviour within the Coalville Town neighbourhood beat.

I spend a lot of time working with other agencies including the local district Council and CCTV operators in the area to improve the security and wellbeing of the many people that live, work and pass through Coalville town every day.

I support and value the concerns of the local residents, shop staff and licensees and encourage them to make our team aware of any ongoing problems affecting them.

When not walking on foot patrol around the town centre, I use a marked police vehicle to patrol the industrial estates and residential areas on the beat.

Feel free to stop and speak with him during his patrol or to contact him via the e-mail link below with any information or concerns you may have.

Nicholas Bromley PCSO

I joined the Coalville Town beat on the 11/09/2017. I look forward to getting to know the area, engaging with the community and helping out in a positive way. If you see me out and about don't be afraid to say hello, I'd be happy to help.

Residents and businesses in the town centre have reported an increase in antisocial behaviour and criminal damage around the town between 4pm and 11pm.

Officers worked with Youth workers, schools and businesses to identify the people responsible. All the people identified were visited and either issued warning letters by North West Leicestershire District Council and the Police about their behaviour, others were asked to sign an Acceptable Behaviour Contract agreeing to stop their behaviour and make positive changes to their lives. Officers also conducted a planned policing operation in the area with high visibility patrols at key times. As a result of the above we have seen a significant decrease in crime and anti social behaviour around the town centre.

Consultations have shown concern with the number of youths gathering at the rear of ASDA car park; next to the foot bridge. This is intimidating members of the public and causing issues for store staff.
Issues include alleged drug taking, littering, shouting, swearing and intimidating behaviour by blocking the entrance to the footbridge
This is occurring during the evening time.
We are looking at a local approach with partners to resolve this.

We have increased patrols in the area and also worked with an organisation called Impact who have sent youth workers to the area to engage with young people. As a result the number of incidents and reports has decreased.
