There are large groups of youths hanging around is the area; drinking, smoking and causing a general nuisance. This generally occurs evening time between 18:00hrs-23:00hrs in the week and all times in the weekend. The group of young people meet up and sit around smoking and playing music, this then causes people to feel intimidated and worried consequencly they then ring in/report anti social behaviour. |

A Junior Safety Team now promotes safe walking and parking. 8 speeding checks have been carried out in Hall Lane, Whitwick and 11 motorists have been sent advisory letters. By working with the IMPACT team we found that the main attraction for the older users was one piece of equipment. The Council Planning Dept and the developers have removed this temporarily so that the effect can be assessed. We have now canvassed the estate and found that this measure has had a significant effect on anti-social behaviour (ASB). |

To tackle reports of criminal damage and minor anti-social behaviour in Whitwick Park, between 6pm and 9pm each day. |
During the period of this priority there has been a minimum of 13 high visibility patrols in the park and only one person was found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis, for which they received a police caution. A total of 11 young people have been searched for drugs following information received from both members of the public and park staff. Your local beat team has been working constantly with the park staff and a bench that was perceived to be a local focus for youths congregating has now been removed. The number of incidents being reported has now fallen significantly, though it is recognised this may be a seasonal variation so this priority is now being closed, but will be reviewed next spring. |

In addition a number of high visibility and plain clothes police patrols have been carried out at peak times with no issues being found. |

To tackle reports of criminal damage and carry out high visibility foot patrols in Whitwick Park between 1800-2100 hours. |
PCSO Sorrell has conducted 19 high visibility patrols in the park. At these times all of the people attending the park have been seen to be behaving in a positive manner. Three incidents of reported criminal damage in and around the park have been dealt with swiftly and robustly and local businesses have received reassurance and support from the local beat team. During our consultation, we have received positive feedback from the Park Wardens in relation to the work we have done in that they have encountered far fewer incidents this summer compared to previous years. The police have received 75% fewer calls than in the previous period. However, we feel further positive action can be taken within Whitwick Park and we will continue with this as our priority during the completion of the youth centre building work. |

To continue to combat rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour committed on Hensons Lane, Thringstone, between 1900-2200 hours. |
PCSO Sorrell has conducted 15 high visibility foot patrols at the appropriate times when nuisance behaviour was most prevalent. The area's anti-social behaviour team have also been utilised to conduct regular mobile patrols to help to identity problem locations and people. One young person has been invited to enter in to an anti-social behaviour contract and a further young person has had a letter sent to his parents to advise them of his behaviour. Overall, the number of anti-social behaviour incidents on the beat has fallen by 32% compared to the same three months last year. Our consultation has included an event at the Sure Start Centre on Hensons Lane where 400 houses were leafleted by North West Leicestershire District Council inviting people to attend and discuss their concerns with the police and a variety of Council departments. No concerns were raised and we are therefore closing this priority |

To tackle rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour in |
PCSO Sorrell has spent more than 14 hours patrolling on foot along Hensons Lane engaging with residents and local teenagers. We have also worked closely with North West Leicestershire District Council Impact Team who deal directly with young people to discourage anti-social behaviour. They spent in excess of 33 hours on Hensons Lane. Between the hours of 7pm and 11pm an unmarked police car with two plain clothed officers has patrolled Hensons Lane to covertly identify the minority of young people who were causing problems. As a direct result of engaging with local teenagers a new 'Positive Futures' youth club has opened in Thringstone. This is receiving positive feedback and is discouraging anti-social behaviour. With the support of the council, we have sent 7 anti-social behaviour warning letters to the parents of misbehaving children. In our consultation, we have received positive feedback from residents in relation to the work we have done however we feel further positive action can be taken in Hensons Lane and we will continue with this as our priority. |

Between the hours of 7pm and 11pm an unmarked police car and two plain clothed officers have patrolled the location to covertly identify young people behaving in a rowdy or inconsiderate manner. The amount of police activity in this area has been monitored by an electronic monitoring system. This resulted in an increased amount of uniformed officers patrolling the location. Police vehicles patrolled 245 times and spent over 7 hours on Melrose Road. Officers attended on 282 occasions and spent 18 hours 36 minutes preventing anti-social behaviour. With the support of North West Leicestershire District Council, 5 warning letters for anti-social behaviour have been sent to the parents of misbehaving children. In our consultation residents have told us they have seen a significant reduction of anti-social behaviour incidents on Melrose Road. Due to this improvement this will no longer be a priority. |
