Vehicles are constantly parking on a restricted yellow line on Bradgate Lane - Asfordby.
The main issue is vehicles between the restrictions constantly parking on the single yellow line, they park and use the local shops - this is then causing traffic congestion outside the local shops in.There are two carparks within 100 yards but drivers fail to use them.

To tackle sudden increase in burglary other than a dwelling and theft in Nether Broughton.

A 39 year old local man is appearing in November at Leicester Crown Court Leicester on 11 charges of handling stolen goods. Another local man aged 35 has been summoned to appear before magistrates regarding similar offences.

Action dated: 10/11/2014

To tackle anti-social behaviour and underage drinking around the Asfordby parks and shop areas. Weekdays between 6-10pm and weekends.

Initially, as a result of identifying this problem, high visibility patrols were increased. This immediately had an effect but a small hardcore of drinkers some of age and some underage relocated to elsewhere in the village. Stop checks and local knowledge established that the main troublesome element of the group was in fact coming in from Melton and bringing their drink in with them. Some robust intervention following an incident on Regency Road in May 2014 led to a number of the group being interviewed by police and the quantity of alcohol being confiscated. The problem stopped immediately following this. It is now August 2014, patrols continue from a preventative angle. I do not want this problem to reappear as we go into the Autumn of 2014 and would ask the residents of Asfordby to contact PC John SCOTT or PCSO Tom FRENCH to discuss and observations and concerns they may have.

The school holidays are for many a fading memory but we thought we would give you an update on work carried out.
Anti-Social behaviour and under age drinking ? Asfordby.
We patrolled hot spots vigilantly and worked with the council to improve the environment to deter ASB. Previous measures have continued to eradicate the problem at most of our hot spots around the village. There has continued to be low numbers congregating at the Parish Hall and we have had no reports in relation to Klondyke Way park, we do however continue to check the area as a matter of course when patrolling Asfordby.

To reduce complaints of anti-social behaviour (ASB) by members of the public. Predominately in the areas of Asfordby Parish Hall, Glendon Park and Saxelby Road. During the early to late evening (7pm to midnight) weekdays and at weekends.

Reports of anti-social behaviour(ASB) have reduced over the last few months. Police have been patrolling indentified hotspots in an effort to keep reports of ASB to a minimum. Several instances have arisen where alcohol has been seized from both underage drinkers and from those over 18 where it was suspected that they may pass it on to minors. We will continue to actively patrol these areas and seize alcohol / advise groups where necessary.

Speeding of vehicles in rural areas giving cause of concern to local residents and other road users on A6006 Asfordby Hill / Asfordby Valley, Station Road, Old Dalby and the unclassified road between Burrough on the Hill and Pickwell. Mainly during rush hours but extending to most hours throughout the day.

High visibility patrols have been conducted in these areas together with covert vehicle speed recording. Identified areas have been added to an ongoing speeding operation in the Melton area. The Camera Safety Team has also been deployed in several areas. Both warnings and tickets have been issued however speeding continues to be an issue across the county. We will be working with local parish councils in relation to Community Speed Watch over the coming months.

By arranging activities with our Road Policing Unit to visit the areas and conduct speed checks and operations - this has been done by both marked cars, marked motorcycles and the speed enforcement van. Your local officers now have computers in their marked police vehicles and while doing updates via these units they park up in these areas in order to provide a highly visible presence.

Action dated: 28/01/2011

Respond to complaints of anti-social behaviour (ASB) by members of the public, predominately in the areas of Asfordby Parish Hall, Glendon Park and Saxelby Road, during the early to late evening (7pm-midnight)weekdays and at weekends

by attending these areas on a regular basis and at the appropriate times and engaging any youths seen in these areas. These young persons and then spoken to and advised about their behaviour and its effects on the wider area. The area youth workers have also working in the village over the summer period in an effort to engage with the young persons they meet too. All local police officers at Melton station have been made aware of these areas and incorporate them in their patrols.

Issue dated: 01/08/2010

Action dated: 28/01/2011

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) including underage drinking, misuse of vehicles and littering. Our aim is to reduce the amount of ASB in Asfordby mainly occurring in the areas of Asfordby Parish Hall, Saxelby Road and Glendon Close Park between 6.30pm - midnight daily.

Hightened patrols have been conducted during early to mid evening in the relevant areas to deter any anti-social behaviour in those areas. No alcohol has been seized as no-one underage was found to be in possession of any. Those in possession of alcohol were well behaved and receptive to our presence. Calls to police by residents regarding anti-social behaviour have been low given the additional factors of the summer months. Police keep in regular contact with the Parish Council who are visiting these areas regularly and picking any litter left. Pleasingly, this also seems to be of a low level. The Youth Offending Team has also been visiting these areas to interact with any groups. Their findings have concluded that any groups have been well behaved, receptive and of low impact to the surrounding areas.

Speeding in rural villages particularly in Main Street (Old Dalby), Main Street (Asfordby), A6006 (Asfordby Hill) and connecting roads between Burrough, Somerby, Pickwell and Leesthorpe during mornings 8am-10am and evenings 5pm-7pm and during weekend days.

By increasing high visibility patrols in the relevant areas during appropriate times. 'Police Speed Check Area' signs have also been used as a warning to drivers. Extra patrols have been organised by specialist traffic officers, including ANPR operations within the neighbourhood

Anti-social behaviour in Asfordby mainly around Asfordby Parish Hall, Saxelby Road and Glendon Close Park between 6.30pm - midnight.

by increasing patrols in the evening at these locations. Any calls by the public have been attended promptly either by the Local Beat Officers or Patrol Officers from Melton. We have also worked closely with Asfordby Parish Council throughout the development of the Glendon Park area offering advice on its layout to reduce the chance of ASB. Regular patrols of the park area have been undertaken both during the evening and early morning checking for signs of the area being misused. Nothing significant has been found. We will continue to work in these areas.

Action dated: 01/06/2010

Speeding in rural areas to include to Main Street, Old Dalby, Main Street, Asfordby, A6006 Asfordby Hill and connecting roads between Burrough, Somerby, Pickwell and Leesthorpe during mornings 8am-10am and evenings 5pm-7pm

by carrying out speed checks in these areas along with the use of "speed check" deterrent signs. Speed checks have been carried out with both the use of our "speed gun" and high visibility static patrols in police vehicles. Whilst no tickets have been issued during our presence, speeding HAS BEEN REDUCED which is ultimately our aim. The Road Safety Unit has also been conducting speed checks within our beat area from visible roadside static vans. We will be working closely soon with Somerby Parish Council who are planning a speed campaign. Due to continued concerns, we will continue to focus our efforts on speeding as a neighbourhood priority.

To work with partner agencies to reduce the
complaints of speeding, by means of enforcement,
driver education and Community Speed Watch in
villages throughout the neighbourhood during the
week and at weekends.

with high visibility patrols in 'hotspot' areas to act as a deterrent to speeding drivers. We have also been enforcing speed regulations with the speed gun, three Fixed Penalty Notices have been issued to offending drivers. We intend to work with the Old Dalby Community Speedwatch group to increase activity. Asfordby Parish Council also want to establish a Community Speedwatch group and we will be working with them to ensure success. Because members of the community are still telling us that speeding is an issue in the rural areas, we intend to continue this priority for the next three months

To reduce the incidents of anti-social behaviour
including under-age drinking, drug taking and
motor vehicles being driven in an anti-social
manner. In the village of Asfordby and at the
Brooksby College Campus. Weekdays during the
early evenings and at weekends.

by working with Managers at Brooksby College to make the site more secure and prevent the access of motor vehicles. Weâ??ve issued four â??Section 59â?? warning notices to drivers (which means their vehicles can be seized if we catch them offending for a second time). Staff at the college have also spoken to students about the dangers of committing driving offences. We have also been actively seizing alcohol from underage drinkers in Asfordby and followed this by visits to that personâ??s parent(s). We intend to continue to work with young people in Asfordby as we believe that we can achieve more results so this will be carried over for next three months.

To work with partner agencies to reduce the
complaints of speeding in villages throughout the
neighbourhood, by means of enforcement, driver
education and Community Speed Watch.

Again this priority is also being carried over as speeding
continues to be the biggest problem across the area.
Community Speed Watch is proving very successful and
we have been working alongside this scheme and have
given out eight verbal warnings to drivers and three
tickets. Elsewhere on the beat we have carried out over
34 speed gun checks, given 40 verbal warnings to
drivers about their speed and issued 13 tickets. We will
continue to carry out checks across the beat in the
coming months.

To reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour,
including underage drinking, drug taking and
motor vehicles being driven in an anti-social
manner, in the village of Asfordby and at the
Brooksby College campus mainly in the early
evening and during weekends.

Anti-social behaviour has been dramatically reduced.
We have continued to carry out high visibility patrols in
problem areas and we believe that this has helped curb
anti-social behaviour across the beat. Drivers have been
given â??Section 59â?? notices. This is something that is
given to drivers of vehicles that are being driven in an
anti-social manner and allows us to seize the vehicle if it
is seen being driven the same way again. Also some of
the drivers are being dealt with internally by the college.
This priority is going to be carried on for the next three
months.

To reduce the incidents of anti-social behaviour, including underage drinking, drug taking and motor vehicles being driven in an anti-social manner, in the village of Asfordby and at the Brooksby College campus mainly in the early evening and during weekends.

Our intention is to continue this priority for the following
three months. The problems appear to have reduced
dramatically by carrying out high visibility patrols at key
times but, as we are now in the summer holidays, we
will be monitoring all calls we receive about anti-social
behaviour and dealing with anyone who comes to our
attention. We have sent a number of anti-social
behaviour warning letters to the homes of young people
we've had reason to talk to.

Issue dated: 18/05/2009

Action dated: 16/08/2009

To work with partner agencies to reduce the complaints of speeding in villages throughout the neighbourhood, by means of enforcement, driver education and Community Speedwatch.

Speeding is still an issue in all rural villages and
therefore this priority will carry on. Community Speed
Watch is already in place in some villages across the
neighbourhood and we are working along side them
trying to reduce speeding.
We have also recently received a 'Visor' monitoring
device at Melton police station which flashes up the
speed of motorists. We are in the process of identifying
sites for the device and it will be out across the
neighbourhood in the next month.
