Proactive policing operations have been conducted with surrounding forces to drive down burglary dwellings.

We have actively promoted the Neighbourhood Watch schemes using the 'cocooning packs' where officers explain the benefits of joint working to tackle these issues.

Issue dated: 27/08/2013

Action dated: 10/03/2014

To address an increase in catalytic converter thefts in the rural villages to the south of Lutterworth and those along the A5 corridor with Warwickshire.

Lutterworth South beat has seen an overall reduction of 92% for Catalytic Converter thefts between August 2012 and February 2013 compared to that of February 2012 to August 2012. This equates to 19 less offences.

The team has completed numerous community engagement initiatives which have included; leaflet drops, high visibility patrols and offering marking kits for Catalytic Converters. The team offered target hardening advice to those with 4 x 4 vehicles who were concerned.

The team has also ensured that anyone who was arrested on suspicion of Catalytic Converter theft was closely monitored by local officers and in one case bail conditions were applied not to enter the Leicestershire area except for a pre arranged appointment. This made a significant headway into achieving the reduction. Overall the plan has been a success and the team will endeavour to pass the message of crime prevention at community events over the coming months.

Issue dated: 01/08/2012

Action dated: 11/04/2013

Speeding in residential areas most notably during commuting periods. The following locations have been highlighted as current community areas of concern.
A4304 North Kilworth,
Brookfield Way, Lutterworth
Coventry Road, Lutterworth
Main Rd Claybrooke Parva/Magna

by carrying out monitoring using the Radarlux equipment at Brookfield Way and the Claybrooks which have resulted in 70 vehicles being monitored with 9 advice letters being sent out.

Issue dated: 01/04/2012

Action dated: 01/08/2012

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the form of street drinking and damage to play equipment on Coventry Road recreation ground, Lutterworth focusing on Friday and Saturday evenings between 1800-0100hrs

High visible and covert patrols have taken place at the location by the local team on every late/night shift. Specific operations to target the location have been arranged following spikes in damage and peak seasonal times. (Halloween, Bonfire night, carnival, Xmas lights etc.).

Youth inputs/ASB workshops have taken place at local schools as well as joint patrols with youth workers at the location. The CCTV system has been reviewed and all its pre-set camera locations reviewed and tours adjusted by local officers in order to obtain best evidence, if required.

Issues at the location are now at the quietest it has been for many years and the town council in particular are very happy at present. It will never be possible to reduce ASB/damage to zero at the location as it is the main park for the town, however the plan has been a success in that issues have not spiked and remained low this year.

Issue dated: 01/09/2011

Action dated: 16/03/2012

To raise awareness in relation to domestic and rural Burglary within Lutterworth and the 15 villages which make up the beat. The plan will cover 24hrs a day 7 days a week and will look to target harden locations and also include proactive patrols and operations by local officers.

Lutterworth beat saw an overall reduction of 13% for dwelling burglary in the 2010-2011 recording year. This equated to six less offences. The team have completed numerous community engagement events during the course of the year and have been keen to implement Smartwater as well as other crime prevention advice on the beat. The team have supplied over 100 forensic property marking kits (Smartwater) and have erected signage within these areas to deter would be burglars. A car fitted with an Automatic Number Plate Recognition Camera (ANPR) was used in Lutterworth for the last six weeks of the crime recording year (Feb-April 2011) and was used daily by the local beat officers and response colleagues in an effort to deter criminals from using our local roads. The Months of February and March saw almost 50% reduction in the amount of offences compared to the same period in the previous year. This made a significant headway into achieving the reduction target. A key suspected offender for burglary was targeted by local officers, arrested and subsequently charged with several offences. The local CID has had several key arrests of burglars over the performance year an example of two recently being sentenced to six years each in prison for their offences. Overall the plan has been a success and community events with a crime prevention message will continue during the coming year. Burglars beware!

Issue dated: 01/01/2011

Action dated: 01/07/2011

Target ASB around the area of Lutterworth retail outlets in Lutterworth Town. ASB is occurring 7 days a week from 1800 â?" 2300 hrs. Main locations are Morrisonâ??s, Bitteswell Rd, Co-op George Street & Woodway Stores, Woodway Rd.

Five arrests of local youths were made in relation to offences committed at or around the above locations. Strict bail conditions were given preventing them from attending the area or associating with each other. Two suspects have been dealt with by means of a Reprimand and a Final Warning after admitting their part in the offences. The other 3 suspects have been charged and are attending court in January 2011. Since the arrests there has been a dramatic reduction in calls to service and problems have all but stopped and returned to normal levels. High visibility patrols and community liaison in the affected locations will continue. This plan is due to close in the early part of the New Year if the situation remains the same.

Issue dated: 01/11/2010

Action dated: 30/12/2010

Anti-social behaviour in the form of street drinking, associated litter and rubbish fires, in and around Lutterworth Community College playing fields, Bitteswell Road, Lutterworth, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6pm to midnight.

This problem solving plan was mainly generated due to complaints from school staff who were in turn receiving calls from residents backing onto the school grounds. The flash point was exam leave and summer holidays for the pupils. Warmer weather meant they congregated and had BBQ's and consumed alcohol. This lead to rowdy nuisance behaviour and noise issues by some. A DPPO (prohibiting street drinking) has been passed covering this area and alcohol seizures have been done by patrolling police officers using these powers. The local team have also conducted regular uniformed and covert patrols moving youths on when needed. The area had suffered with minor fire setting and one young person was identified and placed on a fire setting course with the Fire Service. This outcome was achieved by partnership working through the Joint Action Group (JAG) process. The school estates manager has been consulted with via the JAG also but has no budget to improve the area at present. The school have agreed to litter pick the area to keep it clean. Local residents have been updated via a local Key Individual who attends the JAG and also via ASB call backs by local officers. Some of the issues have resolved themselves due to the time of year. Local officers have a plan to work closely with the school truancy officers this year come exam time to try and prevent a reoccurrence of this problem again. Due to this Problem Solving Plan these links were made last year and are now in place as a prevention measure. This plan has now been closed.

Issue dated: 01/08/2010

Action dated: 31/10/2010

Raising awareness of and reducing dog fouling around Brookfield Way and Brookfield Country Park in partnership with Lutterworth Town Council and Harborough District Council, between 6am and 9pm and again between 4pm and 8pm, seven days a week.

The local team have completed both covert and over patrols within this area in partnership with the HDC enforcement officers. To date no Fixed Penalty Notices for dog fouling have needed to be issued. We have also held two community education events on Brookfield Park where advice and free dog waste bags have been issued to members of the public. The local Community Safety Partnership have discussed the issues at action group meetings resulting in extra signage in the area, a general clean up and also a review of existing dog waste bins has been completed. Since the action taken the complaints of fouling have reduced and this is backed up by officers observations whilst on patrol in the area.

Issue dated: 01/06/2010

Action dated: 05/07/2010

Reducing the impact of youth related anti-social behaviour, including under-age drinking and criminal damage at the Coventry Road recreational ground, Lutterworth, between 7pm and midnight, seven nights a week.

This plan is due to close at the end of the current priority period. We have seen a vast improvement within the area following the successful prosecutions of persons causing damage to the play equipment/skate park. The local team have completed many hours of patrolling interacting with local youths. The Town Council, Police, Youth Service and IMPACT workers have all worked together to carry out activities and interventions within the area. The Community Safety Partnership lead by the District Council and the Police have worked together to pass a Designated Public Place Protection Order for the town which now prohibits street drinking by persons of any age linked to antisocial behaviour. Police patrols will still continue in the area even after the problem solving plan is closed, however as the issues have improved our focus will be moving to other areas of concern.

Issue dated: 01/06/2010

Action dated: 05/07/2010

Reduce the impact of anti-social behaviour, including youths causing damage and disrupting people using the village hall and causing noise in nearby streets, around Ullesthorpe village centre, between 3.30pm and 10pm, Monday to Friday and also at weekends.

Since this plan has been raised we have seen a significant reduction in ASB within the village. Around the time the plan was set residents were reporting ASB by egg and snowball throwing. Properties had mainly been targeted but on occasion individuals as well. The team have responded by increased high visibility patrols at the key times. Officers have also formerly interviewed suspects in relation to incidents that have been reported. No prosecutions have been needed at this stage but officers have dealt with incidents via the ASB process. Key individuals within the community and the Parish Council have also been approached and have informed us that they have seen an improvement around the village.

Reducing the impact of youth related anti-social behaviour, including under-age drinking and criminal damage, around Coventry Road recreational ground in Lutterworth, between 7pm and midnight, weekdays and weekends.

This plan was rolled over from the previous 3 month period and we have continued to see a reduced amount of ASB at the location. We are pleased to report that no new reports of Criminal Damage have been made by the Council this year. The team have successfully identified and prosecuted 5 persons seen on CCTV causing damage at the location. High visible patrols continue at the location along with alcohol seizures from underage persons. The proposed Designated Public Place Order (DPPO) is well underway and currently with the local council for ratification prior to public consultation. Please look out for topic specific press releases with regards to the recent arrests and the DPPO.
