In my role as Community Support Officer I provide visible patrols and communication with the community to assist in the reduction of crime and disorder.

I work closely with Police Officers and other agencies to help provide public reassurance and community safety. I work closely with local businesses in relation to any issues or concerns they may have.

I am Inspector Dave Simpson and I am responsible within the Blyth Neighbourhood Team for all issues related to crime and disorder. It is my responsibility to co-ordinate a response to core crime issues such as criminal damage and vehicle crime and endeavour to find solutions to the causes of crime. In order to successfully carry out this task I will monitor and target crime patterns and target prolific offenders living in and visiting the Blyth area.  I am responsible for providing both leadership and management to the following staff:

• Neighbourhood Sergeant

• Neighbourhood Beat Managers (Constables)

• Special Constabulary

• Community Support Officers

Through my leadership I aim to ensure that my staff and I provide high visibility policing that ensures the needs of the individual neighbourhoods are met whilst also continuing to drive down crime and disorder.

My role also involves forging and maintaining close links with partnership agencies and local councillors in order to promote problem solving within each neighbourhood.

As a neighbourhood beat officer my role is to meet the needs of local communities, uphold the protection of life and property, maintain peace and encourage the reduction or prevention of crime through:

The identification of problems of crime, disorder and other quality of life issues experienced by all sections of the local community, particularly vulnerable groups.
Involvement in problem solving initiatives aimed at addressing the underlying causes of many of these issues.
Provision of a highly visible uniformed presence, aimed at reassuring the local community and reducing the fear of crime.

As a Neighbourhood Beat Manager my day-to-day duties involve ensuring close links are maintained with all sections of the local communities.

I see my role as one of public reassurance and I try to look for long term solutions to issues that concern everyone in the area I work, this can only be done with the assistance of the public and by working with other agencies.

My role is to meet the needs of local communities, protect life and property, maintain peace and encourage the reduction or prevention of crime.

I am a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) for the Town Centre area of Blyth.

My role is to provide visible patrols and communication within the community to assist in the reduction of crime and disorder, gather intelligence and community engagement.

I joined Blyth Neighbourhood Policing Team in March 2009, having worked on the Bedlington Neighbourhood Team for seven years.

I have responsibility for the Newsham, South Newsham, New Delaval, Newsham Farm Estate, Isabella and Poets Estate areas working alongside Community Support Officers Lynne Fraser.  

I will be working with residents and businesses within the area to assist in any issues or concerns they have using my experience as a Neighbourhood Beat Manager to target anti-social behaviour and crime patterns.  I have close links with the schools in my area.  I sit on the Newsham and New Delaval youth forum which formed and help set up the getaway youth project at  the Miners Welfare/Pavillion and see reduction in youth disorder as a major factor to ensure quality of  life for residents in my area.

I am a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) in the Newsham area of Blyth. 

I deal with incidents of minor crime and anti-social behaviour and participate in police operations.  I will be attending community meetings and other organised events to provide a link with the community and Northumbria Police.

Working alongside front line officers, PCSOs provide a visible and accessible uniformed presence, tackling anti-social behaviour and other issues.

I have been a PCSO since June 2011, but I have worked for Northumbria Police since 1987 in another civilian post. My role is to provide visible patrols and communication within the community to assist in the reduction of crime and disorder, gather intelligence and community engagement. I work closely with Police Officers to help provide public reassurance and community safety.
