As a neighbourhood beat officer my role is to meet the needs of local communities, uphold the protection of life and property, maintain peace and encourage the reduction or prevention of crime through:

• The identification of problems of crime, disorder and other quality of life issues experienced by all sections of the local community, particularly vulnerable groups.

• Involvement in problem solving initiatives aimed at addressing the underlying causes of many of these issues.

• Provision of a highly visible uniformed presence, aimed at reassuring the local community and reducing the fear of crime.

I am one of the Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based in Cramlington covering Southfield Estates/Collingwood Estates/Hall Close/Cramlington Village and Manor Walks Shopping Centre.  I have been in this role since September 2005.

My role is to provide high visibility patrols within the community, to assist in the reduction of crime and disorder, and to provide public reassurance and community safety.

I am assisting in the ongoing development of the Shopwatch scheme in Manor Walks Shopping Centre. This includes organising and attending meetings with interested parties as well as Centre security and radio manufacturers.

I have also been responsible for an initiative called 'Rhyme against Crime' in local schools. This initiative raises the awareness of pupils of the effects of crime and disorder within the community. I will be running this initiative again at the beginning of the new school year.

I have recently completed a British Sign Language course supported by Northumbria police.  This has enabled me to communicate with the local deaf and hearing impaired community in Cramlington. 

PCSOs work within the community and were introduced to increase uniformed presence on the streets. Working alongside front line officers, PCSOs provide a visible and accessible uniformed presence, tackling anti social behaviour and other quality of life issues. They can deal with these issues as police powers are not necessary.

Communities have seen the benefit and impact through significant reductions in crime and disorder with a greater feeling of security and safety.

I am one of the Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based in Cramlington and cover the Seghill, Seaton Sluice, New Hartley, East Cramlington and Klondyke.  I have been in this role since March 2007.

My role is to provide visible patrols and communication within the community, to help in the reduction of crime and disorder and to provide both public reassurance and community safety.

I am currently helping to address the anit-social behaviour happening at Holywell Dene, working with the local council as well as local residents.    

Along with my colleagues I am involved with Astley Community High School, where I give assemblies on subjects including cyberbuilling, consequences of criminal damage and the effects of anti-social behaviour to the community.

I am also involved in an annual school competititon called Rhyme Against Crime which raises awareness of the effects of crime and disorer within the community.

I also regularly attend local youth clubs, schools, off-licences and community meetings as well as residential homes to meet the older communities.

PCSOs work within the community and were introduced to increase uniformed presence on the streets.

I am Inspector Pam Bridges and I am responsible within the Cramlington Neighbourhood Team for all issues related to crime and disorder. It is my responsibility to co-ordinate a response to core crime issues such as criminal damage and vehicle crime and endeavour to find solutions to the causes of crime. In order to successfully carry out this task I will monitor and target crime patterns and target prolific offenders living in and visiting the Cramlington area.  I am responsible for providing both leadership and management to the following staff:

• Neighbourhood Sergeant

• Neighbourhood Beat Managers (Constables)

• Special Constabulary

• Community Support Officers

Through my leadership I aim to ensure that my staff and I provide high visibility policing that ensures the needs of the individual neighbourhoods are met whilst also continuing to drive down crime and disorder.

My role also involves forging and maintaining close links with partnership agencies and local councillors in order to promote problem solving within each neighbourhood.

I joined Northumbria Police in March 2009 as a PCSO.

My day to day duties involve high visibility patrols in the Cramlington area, visiting local off-licences and dealing with youth disorder issues.

PCSOs work within the community and were introduced to increase uniformed presence on the streets.

I have worked for Northumbria Police since November 2006, working in different departments, before I was successful in gaining a Community Support Officer position in Northumberland.

I attend local community surgeries, partnership meetings and Police engagement days.
