Morpeth Northumbria Police Police Local Neighbourhood

As your Neighbourhood Inspector I am responsible for the day to day policing in Morpeth. I report to the Chief Inspector Neighbourhoods and I am responsible for managing the following areas:

• Neighbourhood Sergeants and Constables

• Allocated CID resources

• Reassurance policing and high visibility patrol

• Special Constabulary

• Police Community Support Officers

• Crime and disorder reduction in accordance with local targets

Problem solving in areas of responsibility. I also help establish links with partner agencies and local councillors in order to promote problem solving within each neighbourhood by working in partnership with stakeholders.

My role as a Neighbourhood Beat Manager is to meet the needs of local communities, uphold the protection of life and property, maintain peace and encourage the reduction or prevention of crime through:

• The identification of problems of crime, disorder and other quality of life issues experienced by all sections of the local community, particularly vulnerable groups.

• Involvement in problem solving initiatives aimed at addressing the underlying causes of many of these issues.

• Provision of a highly visible uniformed presence, aimed at reassuring the local community and reducing the fear of crime.

My role as Sgt is to work with the local community and reduce crime by:

Identifying crime and disorder and other issues that have an impact on all sections of the local community, particularly vulnerable groups. 

Getting involved in projects that help solve crime issues, aimed at finding long term solutions that get to the root of problem.

Provide a highly visible uniformed presence, aimed at reassuring the local community and reducing the fear of crime.

I have worked for Northumbria Police for fifteen and a half years, with the last eight and a half years being in my current role as a Police Community Support Officer in Morpeth.

My objective is to play my part in helping to improve the quality of life for all communities within the Morpeth Borough.

I work closely with police officers and other agencies to contribute to Northumbria Police Initiatives with the ultimate aim of providing public reassurance, community safety and achieving crime and disorder reduction within your area.
