I work in the Cleobury Mortimer and Highley District area. I have worked for West Mercia Police since September 2009. The local policing team has a station based in the Severn Centre in Highley.

Sue started with West Mercia as a Special Constable in January 2000, a role she was in for for seven years. She then joined as a PCSO in July 2007 and was stationed in Craven Arms. In August 2008, she transferred to Bridgnorth rural and remained there until October 2013 when due to the force reorganisation she was then transferred to Bewdley. Sue transferred back to Bridgnorth in May 2015 and has now moved onto the Cleobury and Highley Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Neighbourhood Priorities for Cleobury and Highley

The Safer Neighbourhood Team and Partner Agencies have identified that there are practical crime prevention measures that could be taken to further protect local residents and businesses from crime and anti-social behaviour.

 

April 2018.  PC Ann O'Leary has been in consultation with Partner agencies to discuss practical measures that can be implemented to increase the level of protection available to residents and businesses in the area.

May 2018.  Officers from the safer Neighbourhood Team have continued to investigate measures that can be used to increase the security available to people who live and work in the area.  Additional lighting and Closed Circuit Television Cameras are some of the ideas being looked at by the Police and partner agencies.  SNT Officers will continue to be deployed to the victims of crime and anti-social behaviour and offer sensible and practical advice.  In certain cases, further assistance, such as a visit by the West Mercia Police Design Out Crime Officer, will be considered.

05 June 2018 - Safer Neighbourhood Team Officers have been in discussion with officers from other areas to discuss best practice with regard to crime prevention.  The provision of CCTV and lighting and how best to make use of it has been discussed.

21 June 2018 - PC Ann O'Leary has been in consultation with other Officers and has discussed the merits of property marking valuable items.  A media release by the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner has also been passed to local councils which gives details of a scheme being run in co-operation with Smartwater, a forensic property marking system available for purchase.

12 July 2018 - The Safer Neighbourhood Team are planning to use the Mobile Police Station in August 2018 to raise awareness of the practical crime prevention measures that people can take to make themselves and their property safer.

12 August 2018 - Safer Neighbourhood Team Officers have attended a number of fetes, festivals and similar events over the last few weeks of the summer and have discussed with members of the public various ways of preventing crime, both at residential addresses and also commercial premises, farms and other areas. 

03 September 2018 - Safer Neighbourhood Team Officers have continued to conduct visits to victims of crime and have provided common sense security advice. 

14 October 2018 - Safer Neighbourhood Team Officers have discussed different ways of making your property more secure, especially as the dark nights close in.

16 November 2018 - Officers continue to visit victims of crime and discuss with them practical methods of making their property more secure.

13 December 2018 - Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have had training from the "We Don't Buy Crime" initiative.  This will help them deal with victims of crime from the area.

17 January 2019 - PC O'Leary has been in discussion with a number of partner agencies regarding CCTV, Smartwater and other crime prevention initiatives.  The PCC for West Mercia Police has also provided additional funding for the National Neighbourhood Watch Scheme and the scheme has been re-launched successfully.

03 March 2019 - Efforts continue to take place to provide full funding for a CCTV system and other crime prevention measures.

06 April 2019 - Victims of crime in the area continue to receive common sense and practical crime prevention advice and reassurance from the Safer Neighbourhood Team.

27 Apr 2019 - Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have been in touch with the staff at the Cleobury Mortimer Council to discuss the effectiveness of the CCTV system that is in place.

28 May 2019 - The CCTV system in place at Cleobury Mortimer appears to have been of considerable use in identifying those involved in criminal or anti-social behaviour in the town.
