Allestree and Darley Derbyshire Constabulary Police Local Neighbourhood

I am Sgt Gemma Thursfield the Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant for Darley, Allestree and Mackworth. 

I joined Derbyshire Police in 2003 and worked for several years at Swadlincote police station as a response and investigation officer. 

I have also worked as a PC in the Melbourne and Chaddesden Safer Neighbourhood Teams before being promoted to Sergeant in 2017 and moving to St Mary’s Wharf police station. 

I am now looking forward to working with the community and agencies and ask that as members of the community you approach and speak with my team. This way we can work together to try and solve any issues you may have.

Theft from Motor Vehicles

# Raise awareness with residents about security measures they could take to prevent theft from motor vehicles
# Crime prevention events to highlight the issues of leaving vehicles insecure.
# Conduct high visibility and plain clothes patrols.
# We have arrested and convicted a number of offenders.
# We have held a number of crime prevention events.

Theft of Pedal Cycles

# High visibility and overt patrols in areas effected
# Pro-active operations to target offenders.
# Raise awareness with residents about security measures they could take to prevent theft from motor vehicles
# Cycle secure Derby Events have been held at Derby University and Markeaton Park

Anti-Social Behaviour

# We work with partner agencies to tackle individuals and households who contribute to anti-social behaviour.
# Working with Derby City Councils to issue Anti Social Behaviour Contracts to suitable individuals.
# High visibility and pro-active patrols in areas effected, to tackle ASB and substance misuse.
# Community encouraged to continue reporting suspicious behaviour or individuals.
