Cowes Hampshire Constabulary Police Local Neighbourhood

PC PRINGLE is one of the WIGHT RURAL WEST NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICING TEAM Constable's responsible for crime and disorder in Cowes, Northwood and Gurnard. His main objective is to reduce crime and anti social behaviour of people who live in or visit these towns especially those people who repeatedly offend. He also aims to reduce problems relating to specific location's and addresses that cause ongoing disturbances to the neighbourhood. PCSO Paul is a member of the WIGHT RURAL WEST NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICING TEAM. She patrols the neighbourhoods of Cowes, Northwood and Gurnard. She is responsible for police and community issues that matter to the residents. This includes the behaviour and welfare of children, engaging with community groups, protecting the vulnerable and elderly and ensuring that the streets and parks are safe places, free from risk or fear of crime. Lisa is based from Cowes Police Neighbourhood Office, Victoria Road.

PCSO Gray aims establish positive relationships with members of the Cowes community. She will patrol on foot to provide high visibility reassurance to the public, give advice on crime prevention and tackle anti social behaviour. Police have been continuing to support and safeguard victims of domestic violence throughout the Cowes, Northwood and Gurnard areas. The police have taken positive action against perpetrators where necessary to prevent other instances taking place, also referring victims to other agency's to help empower them. Police hand out safeguarding equipment such as panic alarms where appropriate.

During the period of December, local officers have made contact with repeat victims of domestic violence to check on their welfare and well being, offering support and signposting to other agencies, if needed.

During January 2018 Cowes Neighbourhood Officers have attended Beat Surgeries at the local primary schools - Cowes/Gurnard/Northwood and Lanesend, as well as Cowes Enterprise College (CEC), where they have been engaging with pupils at each of the schools, whilst also being available during the beat surgeries for parents to raise any local priorities. Officers have also assisted at CEC with regards to two incidents of criminal damage during which pupils at the school have caused significant financial loss due to their actions.
The officers have also conducted regular high visibility foot patrols in the majority of the roads and streets of Gurnard, Northwood and Cowes, as well as all of the recreational parks and youth facilities within the areas.
