Spalding Town Lincolnshire Police Police Local Neighbourhood

James transferred to Lincolnshire Police in 2005 from Sussex Police where I was a uniformed constable, sergeant and detective sergeant.  Prior to that I was a Naval Officer for 6 years and served around the world. 

Since transferring to Lincolnshire Police I have been a uniformed sergeant, inspector and now chief inspector.  Most of my service has been spent at Grantham, Spalding and most recently the Force Control Room at Headquarters.

James is now the chief inspector for the Boston and South Holland policing area.

Gareth's first posting when he joined the force was to Spalding and in the first few years worked between Spalding and Holbeach.

He became a sergeant in 2006 and held positions in Stamford, Grantham, Spalding and Boston. The majority of his career has been in front line uniformed policing. He was the neighbourhood policing Team Sergeant at Holbeach from 2014 – 2015. Since then he has led the force in the roll out and provision of Body Worn Video. 

Gareth now has overall responsibility for the whole of South Holland and works alongside a Detective Inspector who overseas the more serious crime matters and a team of Operations Inspectors who provide 24/7 management for the East Area.

He line manages the seven neighbourhood policing teams for our district.

Gareth enjoys working in the town that he grew up in and wants to lead a team which will make a difference in South Holland; working hard to make it an even safer place to live than it is already. 

Rick is the community beat sergeant for the Spalding area policing team.

Andy is the community beat manager for the Spalding Estates and Spalding Town policing teams.

He was transferred into Lincolnshire Police in April 2016 having served 11 years in Surrey Police working in varied roles specialising in neighbourhood policing and proactive crime teams working on cross border related criminality. Since joining Lincolnshire Police he has worked in a town response role dealing with immediate response incidents and dealing with day to day policing in the South Holland area.

He aims to offer a visible face to policing in the Spalding area tackling local priorities head on. Andy is approachable and is always keen to hear local problems and concerns. He is also actively involved in proactive policing throughout the area and enjoys the challenges that local policing brings.

Sylwia was working as a Health Care Assistant before joining the force in 2018.  

She works as a PCSO the Suttons area and wants to be able to build positive relationship with the community!

Toni initially joined the force as a town enquiry officer at Boston in 2010.

Before this she worked in administration for 7 years with a local transport firm. 

In November 2010, she became a PCSO in Boston before joining The Suttons policing team.

She now works in the Horncastle policing team.

Toni enjoys working within the local communities and meeting new people. It gives her a great deal of satisfaction when she can make a difference to someones life or making them feel safer within the community.

Christian joined the force in 2012 as a volunteer police cadet in Boston.  In 2017 he volunteered to lead the Spalding volunteer police cadets.

In 2017 he joined as a PCSO for the Spalding Town policing team.

David is a PCSO in the Spalding Town policing team

Speeding in the area.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team at Spalding has launched Op BRITANNIC locally.

Police are working locally with volunteers and LRSP to identify ‘hot spot’ locations and then directing speed enforcement to those areas. Strategies include prearranged days of action.

Police also communicate with the local council in order to suggest the placement of electronic speed indicating devices.

Shop theft in the area

Op GRINCH was launched in November 2016. The local police have taken a team approach to tack shoplifting utilising expertise of uniformed investigators to deal with prolific offenders whilst the local neighbourhood team have worked with local businesses to identify persistent offender and target harden vulnerable locations. 

Since 17/12/2016 shop theft has been reduced by approximately two thirds compared to the previous month.
